Two nominations at the 2016 Solutions Awards!

Last Autumn we were surprised and thrilled when we were nominated for Earth Island Publishing’s 2015 Solutions Awards. The unexpected nomination came from our wonderful collaborators on the Shine School Media Awards, Denmaur Paper.

Well, we collaborated with Denmaur again this year and this time around specified their Revive 50/50 series – a stock we have by coincidence been using to great success for a few years now.

Well, it seems to have done the trick because we’ve been nominated for two awards this time.

  • Solutions for the Environment
  • Solutions for Paper

Needless to say this is the most fantastic news.

Design awards are a strange and unknowable quantity for the most part, as they generally involve spending a great deal of money merely to be put forward. The Solutions Awards are more egalitarian and allow all manner of collaborators to put forward entrants and even better, it can appeal to smaller agencies like us – it’s free.

We’d love it if you felt able to vote for us – click on the logo below:

The project in question we’re nominated for once again is the Shine School Media Awards ‘Winners Book’, and it is a real testament to the work of Rob Ricketts, our print lead designer here who devised the graphic scheme and re-worked the design this year.

I wrote earlier in the summer about the awards and our work on the winners book – the third year we’ve completed this deeply satisfying piece of work.

Since the awards day various interesting outcomes have followed – in particular the short film made by Carlo Teofilo about the awards day, which is below.

It’s a great piece of work and really captures the magic of the awards day at Stationers’ Hall in central London.
