Tom Carey Design

Creating branding and a website which would be truly worthy of the work of highly distinctive interior designer Tom Carey was a challenge we’ve relished. The key was to find a balance between capturing the essence of his creativity in our design work and allowing the photography of his work to be primary.

We’re always keen on a statement of use of type in our projects and this offered a chance for something really decadent. We proposed Erotique, a beautiful flowing typeface by Zetafonts, which helped anchor the whole project.

The end result combines a careful choice of colours with a set of custom illustrations inspired by elements of his interiors. We created custom drawings of ornamental picture frames, passementerie, Roman busts and lockets which make a statement of their own while offering an echo of Tom’s beautiful work.
