Illustration agency The Artworks nurture a constantly evolving portfolio of amazing visual material commissioned across disciplines including advertising, publishing, design and editorial.
Steph, Alex and Lucy have been clients of ours going back many years, and when they asked us to look anew at their website, we decided to go a little further than we have in the past.
For this latest reimagining, we’ve devised a completely new approach to typography for The Artworks which is intended to refer to both art and work, creating a visual identity system which is a combination of the faces Queens by Kilotype and Euclid by Swiss Typefaces.
To work effectively, The Artworks’ portfolio website needs to be an elegant yet characterful frame of sorts, holding all their work alongside a busy news section and a set of curated pages tailored to the specific industries within their wide-ranging client base. Blending video, animation and large-format images of the artists’ amazing creative work, the website is a treasure trove of imagination and creativity.
“We have worked with Richard Chapman Studio for a few years now and they really do treat web design differently to other consultants. This results in something that is forward thinking but perfect to the brief we set them.
“They push boundaries making the re-design last the distance in this ever-changing industry.
“They listen, they care, they deliver!”
