Angular Legal is a specialist boutique law firm in the heart of London’s Fitzrovia. Working together over the last year, we got to know a client whose name and new brand now finally align.
From the very beginning of our rebranding project, the conversation I’ve had with the team at Angular Legal has been about potential. Theirs is such a fantastic name, one that evokes notions of precision, clarity and certainty, all things you’d look for in your legal counsel. Their new corporate identity needed to live up to those ideals. We’ve spent the last year working with the team on a law firm rebrand to rethink ‘everything Angular’, leaning into notions of geometry and a use of bold colour to build a brand that’s truly worthy.
Our law firm rebrand for Angular Legal
The Angular Legal logo is as notable for the parts of the design that aren’t there as the parts that are. Between its darting lines, negative space defines the identity while the sharp empty spaces allow the eye to really discover the identity. This was the design we knew could be drawn for this project, it just required a sense of ambition and a client who had the belief to commission the project in the first place. Jagged, commanding, ambitious, we feel that the new Angular Legal logo lives up to the people behind the company and the sense of style the firm deserves.
Right from the start, we knew the identity would need to be businesslike while having a specific personality so it’’s fascinating now to look back at the process. In fact the final icon design was in our very first presentation. The type paired with it came later and was a really interesting choice. We’ve used the newly published variable typeface, Cabinet Grotesk by Indian Type Foundry with its characterful shapes as a counterpoint to the icon, offering smooth readability and concision to the identity. All the elements came together with the colour palette and were completed by August 2025.
The completed design is a stirring testament to a client who knew exactly what they wanted and would be right for their business from the beginning.

The completed Angular Legal website project is a vision of interactivity and motion, applying a graphic design concept that is confident and breathtaking. One of our ambitions was that it should be so specific to them, that it could sit on the walls of their office as art. The website homepage design is a field of singular shapes that feel immovable and strident upon arrival yet move gently and with a subtle grace as the cursor moves left to right across the screen. It’s something you discover as you go, devised to offer delight and a little surprise. The design is certainly an unusual choice for a law firm but perhaps it’s this very originality that makes it worthwhile and the central business message present forward so clearly to the user.
Within the site, a mix of shapes inspired by the identity sit behind the central information on each page, offering purpose and service first and foremost. A series of custom designed vector animations are used across each page as headers, building and moving behind the heads of the pages. These visuals then fade from introduction to content and disappear from view into a glassy, blurred panel as the newly-read content moves through. The idea was to create a tension between precision and softness, allowing focus on the text, people behind the firm and within the news section, their viewpoints on today’s pertinent legal matters and most recent activities. Every page chimes with their ethos and is ‘Always Angular,’ yet delivers much more than you might initially expect.

When the team behind a rebrand has a conviction of what they like, what will be the right answer at each turn, the entire experience feels like leaving work behind and embracing the joy of creativity with purpose. It reminds my team and I why we do this in the first place. This was genuinely the experience with Angular Legal. We loved working with Jess, Cierra and Grace. They knew what would be right and really spent time looking at sketches and early ideas, enjoying the idea of bespoke creativity that had been made for them and really savouring that part of the process.
We know that working with a legal partnership is a process and can take time. Every partner should be consulted and agree with what is happening, even if they’ve decided to cede control to a core team. We’ve completed this process many times and are familiar with the patience this requires. We even try to lean into making that, creating specific presentations for Managing Partners with the idea of ensuring potentially painful partnership meetings get great ideas agreed.
This particular project has been fascinating to observe. The team at Angular Legal have such an interesting balance of internal confidence in the future of the firm, combined with a deep knowledge and sure-footed explanation of how they serve their clients.

Going into this project, I did something I rarely do: I begged for the team at Angular Legal to give us this wonderful job. We absolutely love custom graphics and creating bespoke, one-off design ideas. For a client with a name like ‘angular,’ this project was a gift to a graphic designer. A particular highlight is the totally interactive homepage, a concept that far exceeded what I was expecting at the outset of the project and certainly what I imagined the team to agree to and commission.
This law firm rebrand project is such a great example of what can happen when a client gives space, time and a sense of confidence in the agency they’ve hired. With their clarity of purpose and enthusiasm to shake their industry up, Angular Legal have focused on client service and the people they want to work with in their own inimitable style.
